Original manuscript of chapter 2 of A tramp abroad, Samuel L. Clemens's (Mark Twain's) account of his sojourn of nearly a year and a half in Europe, written in the form of a burlesque walking tour. In this text, the author visits the tourist attractions of Heidelberg, Germany. With numerous revisions, deletions, and marginal notes. Paginated 26-43, 47-75 by Clemens and the chapter number has been changed from "5" to "2" by him. Includes printed title page, printed page with text "Pages from the original edition" followed by p. 22-37 of same, and a portrait of the author signed "J.A.J. Wilcox, Sc., Boston" as frontispiece.
